Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Spokeeasy?
It’s a 14-person pedal powered trolley, with a certified Spokeeasy captain in the driver’s seat. Perfect for pub crawls, birthday celebrations, bachelor/bachelorette parties, company outings, brewery tours, sightseeing, themed nights out- the possibilities are endless! A minimum of 6 peddlers is necessary to power the Spokeeasy.
Can I bring alcohol on the bike?
Yes! You can bring up to 36 ounces of malted beverage (think anything you can buy in the gas station after 9pm - beer, spritzers) per person only in cans. We cannot have glass on the bike for any reason and you cannot bring alcohol, wine, or other liquors onto the bike. You can however consume them at the bars we visit. No open containers can be brought between the bars and the bike.
What all is included in the price?
The price include the rental for the Spokeeasy for the two hours, a driver, music, and a cooler for your beverages.
Where does the Spokeeasy stop and for how long?
During a private tour, that is up to you, as long as its along your route. Visit the "destinations" page under "about" for details. Just let your driver know where you would like to stop at the start of the tour. Most groups stop at three spots for about 15-20 minutes at each stop. For mixer tours, we will stop at three popular bar/restaurants for 20 minutes at each stop. These stops will vary based on the group on board, rider requests, and the driver's discretion. We usually stop at Daly’s, Malarkey’s, Intermission, and the Cop Shoppe. Some people prefer to stay on board the whole tour, even during the stops, and that is just fine!
How much does it cost?
A private tour has a flat rate of $399. Mixer tickets, where you can buy individual seats, are $30 each. Special events are charged by the hour- plus a drop-off fee if you need to have it transported to your event. Make sure you book your tour well in advance, as we are often sold out on popular time-slots up to a month in advance!
Where do we board the Spokeeasy?
All tours begin and end in front of Cop Shoppe Pub, located at 701 Washington St. Free parking is available nearby.
Can we drink on board?
You may, but you have to follow the rules. No hard alcohol or glass (even if the glass only stays in the ice chest). All alcohol is BYOB. Alcoholic beverages must remain on board at all times. Bring your own ice chest or use ours. You are also free to bring food on board. Use common sense, you can’t drink on the street. Do not get overly intoxicated or you will be kicked off. Do not show up to a Spokeeasy tour intoxicated or you will not be let on board.
Isn’t it hard to pedal?
It's not too bad!! We promise!
What if it rains?
Spokeeasy operates rain or shine! If its going to rain, we recommend bringing rain jackets and/or ponchos. It’s still a lot of fun- think of it as an adventure. We only cancel tours if there are unsafe conditions.
What if it's really cold?
SpokeEasy is similar to a sleigh ride but you pedal (and drink) to keep warm! Make sure dress appropriately for the weather!
How many coolers fit on board?
We can fit approximately 3 full-sized coolers on board. If you would like to use our cooler, we have room for approximately 48 cans of beer in ours (but we recommend you pack your own ahead of time).
Can more than 14 people fit on the Spokeeasy?
No. The fourteen seats include the non-pedaling seat in the back bench.
Are people under the age of 21 allowed on board?
Yes, but no alcohol will be allowed on the ride with underage persons. The minimum age to ride the Spokeeasy is 16 with valid identification.
Is there a weight limit for riders?
Yes. Unfortunately due to the nature of the vehicles, customers over 275 pounds will not be able to comfortably ride the Spokeeasy.
How do I reschedule/cancel my tour?
All rides are non-refundable. However, we understand things come up and you may need to reschedule. Reschedules are allowed up to 7 days before the tour and will be charged a $100 fee for the schedule change. Reschedules less than 7 days prior to a tour will not receive a credit for another ride.
